I will dominate 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the novice continues to be one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, consistently making huge financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters met for the customary stare-down, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
